As we enter the final weeks of 2021, we take a look back at the main events of what was another busy and successful year for it’seeze Horsham.

January - we won silver!

On Friday 29th January, we 'attended' the The QFA's 2021 Virtual Franchising Awards. We were thrilled to have reached the final for Franchisee Of The Year, along with fellow it'seeze franchisees Suzy Perry, Steve Axtell and John Cooper. We were even happier when it'seeze Horsham owner John Wright was announced as the winner of the Franchisee Of The Year Silver Award. What a fantastic way to start the year.

February - supporting our clients during lockdown

As lockdown continued, we spent a lot of time talking to our clients on Zoom to help and advise them on how to update their content to reflect the ways in which their businesses were changing and adapting in line with Covid restrictions.

We also looked at ways that we could help a wider audience, and decided to put on two webinars to help it’seeze customers improve their website visibility. So as well as directly supporting our clients in February, we spent time preparing and promoting these webinars for March and April.

March - SEO Masterclass

Most business owners know how important SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is, but few really understand what it entails, and what actions to take to optimise their website for search engines such as Google. So in March we hosted an SEO Masterclass webinar to cover the most important aspects of SEO.

The event was promoted nationally, and we were delighted that over 200 people attendant. We covered what SEO is and why is it important, how search engines work, on-page and off-page SEO factors, white and black hat SEO techniques, and the importance of E.A.T. We also provided 6 tips to improve a website's ranking.

April - Keyword Workshop

After the success of the SEO Masterclass webinar we held a Keyword Workshop. This webinar delved into the importance of keywords for SEO. We looked at aspects such as longtail and shorttail keywords, keyword research, and putting together a keyword strategy.

June- we bid farewell to Rachel Humphrey

After working for it'seeze Horsham for four years, June saw Rachel take up another role in a completely different industry. While we were very sad to see Rachel go, it was a fantastic opportunity for her and we wished her great success in her new role.

July - John Wright takes fundraising to new heights!

Originally scheduled for May 2020, John finally did a wing walk in July 2021. John decided to take on a wing walk when, as the outgoing Chairman of Billingshurst & Horsham Chamber of Commerce (BHCC), he followed in the footsteps of previous Chairman Chris Cooper to raise funds for BHCC's nominated charity Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice.

The wing walk, which John described as 'exhilarating' and 'one of the most incredible things I have ever done' raised £1,400 for Chestnut Tree House.

August - a new office in Dorking

At it’seeze Horsham we are committed to make it as easy as possible for local businesses to have great websites that help improve their online presence. A key part of that is being able to meet with our clients, so we can discuss their business and their website requirements in person, rather than over the phone or by email.

We were conscious that our Horsham office, while ideal for many of our clients, meant others had to travel to meet with us if they don't have their own premises where we can meet. And while coffee shops are convenient, they are full of distractions!

So in August we teamed up with BiZSpace Dorking and took on office space at The Atrium Business Centre in Dorking. Located on the edge of Dorking town centre, and with plenty of parking, The Atrium is a prefect location for us to meet with Surrey based businesses to discuss their requirements.

September - return to face-to-face networking

As Covid restrictions eased, face-to-face networking meetings were able to return in September. Networking has always played a significant role for it’seeze Horsham, both for increasing our client base and for finding new suppliers.

Over the previous 18 months, networking had moved online, on platforms such as Zoom. And while we were extremely grateful that networking could continue in this way, we didn't feel it was as beneficial and effective as face-to-face networking.

So we were very happy to be able to meet up again with other local businesses at networking groups such as Kingswood BNI and Sussex Connections.

October - welcome to Rachael Colbran

In October we expanded the it’seeze Horsham team, and were delighted to welcome Rachael as our new Customer Support Administrator.

Rachael works with our new customers to support the process of getting their website looking great and ready to go live. In addition to this, Rachael will be on hand for our existing customers, answering any queries they may have, holding website reviews with them, and helping them to keep their websites updated and looking fresh.

November - Carter and Olive's new website

We have been fortunate enough to create new websites for so many wonderful businesses this year. We have enjoyed working on every single one, and we have loved the positive feedback we have received.

While it's never easy to pick out one particular site, the stunning photos that Carter and Olive had for their website means that we can't finish this review without mentioning their new website that went live at the beginning of November.

Carter and Olive's services include hiring out vintage china for weddings, afternoon tea, and any other celebration or event. They also do vintage prop hire, artisan confetti and event styling.

Their new website benefits from beautiful, high quality photos of vintage crockery. These are supplemented with appropriate stock images that continue the vintage theme. And that vintage feel continues with the fonts used throughout the site.

If you are looking for a celebration, event or tea party with a difference make sure you check out the Carter & Olive website.

December - Merry Christmas

As we conclude the year, we would like to offer a massive thank you to all of our clients, both those that joined us in 2021 and those that have been with us for longer. We would also like to thank our suppliers, everyone at it’seeze Head Office and our fellow franchisees, our networking friends and everyone that we know and work with. We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
