When someone visits your website, it’s because they have a problem that needs solving. A common mistake is to only focus on the products or services on offer, and not to tell visitors what problems they can solve.
At it'seeze Horsham we spend a lot of time looking at websites, and something we see all too often is a huge amount of text going into all sorts of detail about the features of the products or services that the company offers. But what it doesn't tell website visitors is what problems those products or services solve for their customers.

Now please don't take this the wrong way, but when it comes to the wonderful features your products or services contain - no one cares! Sorry to break it to you so harshly, but what your customers and potential customers really care about is how those features help them by solving a problem that they currently have.

What problems can you solve?

You know your products better than anyone else, so think about what benefits those features provide for your customers, and then brainstorm what problem(s) they will solve for them.

You may be able to help someone that doesn't have enough time to complete their tax return before the deadline, maybe you can help people who have a potential health problem because of their unhealthy lifestyle.

Perhaps you can help someone who has a leaking roof; a leaking gutter; a leaking tap. What about people who are celebrating a special occasion and need somewhere to hold a party, or want to buy a unique gift? Maybe a landlord has an issue with a problem tenant that you could help them solve.

 Start with the problem

Once you have identified all the problems you can solve for your clients, make sure your website talks to visitors about how you can solve those problems. Don't go into too much detail about the features of your products; just enough that potential customers know how you can help them, how their life will be better if they use your product/service, and why they should choose you rather than your competitors to solve their problem.

Have a clear idea of what problem it is that your company solves and who you solve it for, and you will find your website visitors engage much more with your content.
