10 Website Secrets; Part 5, Avoid spelling and grammar mistakes
Posted on 3rd August 2018
Its not grate when you are reeding sumthing and the spelling is wrong and the grammar is not rite it makes it hard to read and understand the points that are being made and is not likly to engage your website visitors which means they probably wont stay on your website and your credibility will also bee damaged.
OK, this is an extreme example, but I’m sure it gets the point across. (That’s if you stayed around long enough to read it!)
Part of the role of an effective website is to help gain credibility for your business, and for potential customers to feel comfortable enough to get in touch with you or to buy your products.
If your website contains the odd spelling mistake or grammatical error, it is likely to damage your credibility. If it is littered with errors and mistakes, people won't stay on your website. They will go elsewhere to find the information they are looking for.
Not everyone is great at spelling, but that doesn't need to be a problem. Many website editing systems come with an inbuilt spellcheck programme. Even easier though, is to create your content in a word document, carry out a grammar and spell check, and then copy and paste it onto your website.
You have around 5 seconds for your website visitors to form an opinion, and to decide whether they will stay on your website. Get the text right, and make sure the impression they get is a good one.
